Tuna with Sesame Crust

Flavorful, light, and easy to make! This recipe uses fresh tuna rich in omega-3 and packed with umami flavors.

With just a few ingredients, you give your tuna a special twist and elevate your meal.

Ingredients

  • Sauce

    • 3 tablespoons vinegar (45 ml)
    • 2 tablespoons honey (30 g)
    • 1 tablespoon raw sesame oil (15 ml)
    • A pinch of salt (0.4 g)
    • A pinch of black pepper (0.2 g)
  • Tuna

    • 5 fresh tuna steaks (600 g)
    • ½ teaspoon salt (2.5 g)
    • 4 tablespoons sesame seeds (30 g)

Modo de preparo

  1. Make the sauce: in a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, honey, sesame oil, salt, and pepper; set aside.
  2. Prepare the tuna: season the tuna with salt, then press both sides of each steak into the sesame seeds until coated.
  3. Heat a large non-stick skillet (lightly oiled) over medium heat. Place the tuna in the pan and sear for 5 minutes on each side, or until golden on the surface and tender when touched with a fork.
  4. Remove from heat, drizzle with the reserved sauce, and serve immediately.
