Rice Cake Recipe

If you have leftover rice at home, rice balls are always the best option to avoid waste and still guarantee a delicious appetizer. And how about adding vegetables to your rice balls?

Check out this special recipe that features several umami ingredients and will leave anyone’s mouth watering. Oh, and these simple rice balls can be fried in oil or in an air fryer, the choice is yours!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (tea) of already cooked rice (190 g)
  • 1 egg (50 g)
  • half a teaspoon of salt (2.5 g)
  • 1 small chopped tomato (130 g)
  • half a cup (tea) of chopped ninja broccoli (50 g)
  • 3 and a half tablespoons of wheat flour (35 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese (8 g)

Modo de preparo

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the rice, egg, salt, tomato, broccoli, flour, cheese and mix.
  2. Using two tablespoons, shape into 9 dumplings and deep-fry them in batches in moderately hot oil for 3 minutes, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.
  3. Add the eggs, salt, and pepper, mixing until the batter is homogeneous.

Tip: If you prefer, prepare them in an air fryer. To do this, arrange the dumplings in the greased basket and brush with oil. Cook in a preheated air fryer at 180 degrees for 10 minutes, turning halfway through, or until golden brown. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
